Reigning British GT champions Dawson and Jewiss confirm Silverstone 500 one-off

Reigning champions Charles Dawson and Kiern Jewiss will make a one-off British GT return, running with the #1 Mercedes-AMG GT3 at the Silverstone 500 on April 25-26.

Following the championship victory last season, Charles and Kiern have since graduated to GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS. Making their first start of the season over the weekend, the duo secured a P4 finish in the Bronze Cup at Circuit Paul Ricard. However, they have unfinished business in British GT’s blue riband event, missing out on victory by just 0.6s last year.

Up for grabs is the historic RAC Trophy, which was first awarded for a 500-mile race at Brooklands in 1932.

“We had a brilliant season in 2025 but narrowly losing to Darren and Dan at Silverstone was a big disappointment. Having the chance to right that wrong, with Kiern, is our primary motivation for returning. The strategy-focused format is also now quite unusual within GT racing, while the longer race distance aligns with what we’re doing in Europe this year. We’d love to add our names to the historic RAC trophy”

They ran a great race, and only narrowly missed out on the overall win. It is great to have them back in the British GT paddock for this event, and joining us as we kick off our 2026 British GT programme. It was a solid start to their 2026 campaign in Paul Ricard, so let’s see what we can achieve at Silverstone.”

Charles and Kiern will join the team as they commence their British GT season programme. The headline Silverstone 500 event takes place over the weekend, 25-26 April.
