Announcement
2 Seas Motorsport is adding a further European event to the 2025 campaign with entry confirmed for the penultimate International GT Open round at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya next weekend, 20-21 September. The team will see a familiar name at the wheel of the #222 Mercedes-AMG GT3, alongside a new face to both the team, and the world of GT3 competition. Recent GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Bronze Cup winner, and current British GT Championship leader, Charles Dawson will be joined by GT4 Winter Series champion, McKenzy Cresswell, who will make his GT3 debut

Charles adds a further race date to his busy 2025 calendar, as he looks to continue gaining competitive GT3 track experience. He is currently leading the British GT Championship, alongside teammate Kiern Jewiss, with one race remaining. The pair have scored three race wins to-date, and will arrive at the Donington Decider next month with a 28.5 points advantage. Most recently, Charles added further silverware for the season with victory on his GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup debut, securing class honours at the Nürburgring.

Joining the team for the weekend will be GT3 rookie, McKenzy Cresswell. The 19-year-old has competed through karting and single seat formulas over recent years, before moving into GT competition for this season. McKenzy has shown impressive form in GT4 competition, and he arrives at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya having scored victory there earlier this year. On his way to claiming the GT4 Winter Series title, he claimed a total of six wins, four pole positions and a further six podium results.

Running as entry number #222, 2 Seas Motorsport will run the familiar ‘palm tree’ livery, which Charles has driven to each of his victories this year. The announcement by the team is a return to the International GT Open grid for the first time since 2021, when two race weekend appearances scored victories at both events contested. An opening win at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza in Italy was followed up with a second outright win in Barcelona, driven by teammates Ethan SImioni and Martin Kodric.

“Another exciting line-up for another big weekend, and it is great to welcome McKenzy to the team alongside Charles. They have both been enjoying strong seasons so far, with some impressive results, and it will be interesting to see how they combine - hopefully we can keep our 2025 form going! Charles has proven himself to be the man to beat on several occasions, and McKenzy makes the move up to GT3 off the back of a championship and a string of victories.
It's also great to be back on the International GT Open grid. It’s has been a few years since our last race, but we have really good memories and scored strong results, so hopefully we can add to that. This will also be a dress rehearsal for the team, as we prepare to be back racing in Barcelona in a few weeks for the important GT World Challenge season finale.”
Isa Al Khalifa, 2 Seas Motorsport team co-owner.

Round 7 of the International GT Open calendar takes place next weekend, 20-21 September at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The team also continues to prepare for the closing rounds of the British GT Championship and GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup, as they challenge for both championship titles, alongside planning for the upcoming winter programme.
