Announcement
Further to the announcement that 2 Seas Motorsport will return to the Gulf 12 Hours, the team has confirmed it will defend the title in 2022 with a two-car entry at Yas Marina next month. Reigning champions Sh. Isa Al Khalifa, Martin Kodric and newly-announced Lexus Factory Driver Ben Barnicoat will be reunited as a full Pro entry, while the second entry of Casper Stevenson, Morgan Tillbrook and Ian Loggie takes on the Am class.

The Gulf 12 Hours returns to Abu Dhabi for the 10th running at Yas Marina Circuit and, as the current title holders, 2 Seas Motorsport will look to repeat the success from earlier this year. After a relocation to the Bahrain International Circuit in 2021, the team scored pole position, fastest lap, and led at the conclusion of both 6-hour endurance races to take a hugely popular victory on home soil.

The 2021 title-winning trio join forces once again looking to repeat the feat in the Pro class, joined in the sister car by an all-new British line-up fighting for Am honours. Exciting young talent Casper Stevenson will make his first GT3 start having enjoyed previous success in single seaters and a proven race winner in Formula 4 and, most recently, Euroformula Open. Morgan Tillbrook joins the team having signed off his maiden GT3 season in British GT with a victory at the final round. The line-up is completed by former Blancpain Endurance Series Am champion, multiple GT3 and LMP3 race winner, and British GT stalwart, Ian Loggie.

2 Seas Motorsport now heads back to the Middle East running with Mercedes-AMG to begin the new season, looking to build on a stellar year. The team took top honours at each of the four race events contested during the 2021 season, and a return to the Gulf will see the Bahraini-British team pushing hard to continue this streak.

“The 2021 Gulf 12 Hours was a hugely proud moment for me personally, both as a driver and a team owner, winning on home soil in Bahrain. I am extremely pleased that we can return to defend the title, with the added challenge of being back at Yas Marina, and I am really looking forward to being back racing with Ben and Martin. Hopefully we can keep the momentum going into the new season and start the year on another strong footing. It is also great to be challenging for the Am honours, and the line-up is a fantastic mix of youth and experience with Casper, Morgan and Ian. I am feeling confident that we have a real chance of a strong result, and they will certainly be a force to be reckoned with.”
